Physiotherapy is a treatment method that focuses on the science of movement and helps people to restore, maintain and maximize their physical strength, function, motion and overall well-being by addressing the underlying physical issues. Physiotherapists have in-depth knowledge of how the body works and specialized hands-on clinical skills to assess, diagnose, and treat symptoms of illness, injury and disability. Physiotherapy includes rehabilitation, as well as prevention of injury, and promotion of health and fitness. Physiotherapy treatment techniques include manual therapy, functional dry needling (IMS, acupuncture), modalities (cold laser, ultrasound, electrical stimulation) therapeutic exercises and taping. Physiotherapy is covered by most extended health plans. We can now directly bill some insurance companies (including Blue Cross, Sun Life, Canada Life, Greenshield, Manulife, etc)
